About Me
Kandi Patterson was born on July 5, 1996, at home in Capistrano Beach , California, to a family of a strong surf heritage. Kandi's father, grandfather, and great grandfather all built and manufactured surfboards. Kandi’s home and lifestyle emulates everything there is about the surf culture. She is the forth generation surfer in her family. Kandi has been on a surfboard since she was a baby, and has competed in contests since she was 5. At the of 10, and many first place trophy’s to show, is the time when company’s started to recognize her. She was asked is she would be interested in being sponsored. Of coarse she said yes; what a dream to be a young girl, doing what you love, and being recognized for it. Her current sponsors are: T. Patterson Surfboards, O’Neill clothing and wetsuits, Von Zipper sunglasses, and Ocean Minded sandals. Kandi has a passion for surfing as a result from spending long hours, everyday at the beach, and in the water. She is surfing competitively in the WSA.; and rated 5th in Girls Short board, and 3rd in Girls Long board.
As much as Kandi appreciates surfing, she also has a deep appreciation for the performing arts. This also started at an early age. She took local acting and drama workshops, attended many plays, and performed locally herself. Kandi is now ready to hit the big arena, refining her skills for the last 3 years at the Active Actors Studio in Hollywood. Her classes include; On camera cold reading, scene study, and improv. Kandi has shifted gears and is now focusing on behind the camera. She has taken classes in photography, at the community college, and a photoshop class as well. The camera is just as much a part of her as are her legs! She captures something that the average person would not.
